Rarest of the rare: factory original chrome finish. Made by the L. M. “Roy” Cox Manufacturing Company of Santa Ana, CA. The ‘Special’ had a .049 displacement engine sticking out of the tail section. This was the first model made by Cox The Thimble Drome set the pattern for these new after-war gas engine race cars: die-cast aluminum, open wheel, open cockpit, rubber tires, glow engine, and rear drive. About 9″ long. The ‘Special’ was followed by the ‘Champion’.
