Description

Sturditoy American LaFrance #9 Water Tower made in 1927.  Low open cab. Service body equipped with elevating water tower. Nozzle can be directed Up, Down, and to Either Side. Has a Bell and a hand operated Brass Water pump.  White Rubber Hose mounted on each side of body. Stamped steel painted bumper. Double Disc steel wheels with Rubber Tires. Front and Rear wheel steering. Original Red Paint with Original Decals. 34″ long, 8.5″ wide, 11.5″ high. Page 332 in Freed’s book-American Transportation Toys -1895-1941. Front and Rear steering works, but front steering wheel is loose on the column. Hand operated pump will turn, but not easily. Hose from pump to tower isn’t there. All four tires have a flat spot where it has sat too long.  Numerous areas where paint has chipped off – it’s 93 years old!   Good example of a non-restored Fire Truck.  Included is an Original Adv. from Junior Home magazine – December 1926.  Shipping Box is 36x12x15  weighs 25 lbs. double boxed.
